Deb Hampson has a BA Honours degree in Swedish and English from Aberystwyth University where she studied under award winning translator (of Henning Mankell’s books among others), Laurie Thompson.
She has nearly 20 years’ experience of working with languages, currently as a freelance translator and previously as a teacher of Swedish, Spanish and French. Based in North West England, Deb counts the West Coast of Sweden as her second home, and travels there frequently.
“I fell in love with Sweden the very first time I visited. The landscapes, the sea, the cultural life and the people. It has a very special place in my heart.”
Another of her passions is funghi foraging, and with her husband Bengt Saxmark she runs the wild mushroom company Get Funghi.
